ABOUT US
about us
Dance Marathon at San Diego State University is a year-long fundraising effort benefiting the patients and families at Rady Children’s Hospital-San Diego, our local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Our fundraising efforts culminate in an overnight, 12-hour event to educate, inspire, fundraise, celebrate, and make everlasting miracles. Each year, more than 600 SDSU students stay awake and on their feet overnight, and “dance all night for the kids who can’t.” Since our first event in 2015, we've fundraised over $2.5 million for San Diego's sick and injured kids, making it not only the largest and most successful student philanthropy on SDSU’s campus, but also the highest-fundraising Miracle Network Dance Marathon program on the West Coast. In 2024, Dance Marathon at SDSU raised a grand total of $203,412.10 for Rady Children’s Hospital.
With 511 beds, Rady Children’s Hospital is the largest children’s hospital in California based on admissions and provides care to almost a quarter of a million children annually. It is the only hospital in the San Diego area dedicated exclusively to pediatric healthcare, and is the region's only designated pediatric trauma center. All of the funds raised by Dance Marathon at SDSU go directly to purchasing state-of-the-art medical equipment, enhancements to make a child’s stay at the hospital more enjoyable, and funding for research grants and educational programs.
Until the day where no child is sick comes, we dance and fundraise in their honor. Read more about where your donation to Dance Marathon at SDSU goes here.
During our tenth year, Dance Marathon at SDSU is excited to make the most miracles for kids yet!
